to know life is to love
many things.
Here’s the professional stuff: I am a PR professional who was a liscensed dental hygienist once and had plans for dental school. I have worked in Marketing & Communications for non-profits, public schools, and city government. I am a speaker, writer, and a 7 on the Enneagram.
But for the record: When I retire, I plan to be the person who mixes your paint colors at the hardware store. I was raised in the deep south, and therefore, I know how to survive on bbq sauce and white bread. I read cookbooks like a novel but know that the best meals can come from a gas station. I have been a singer all my life and I’m still waiting for that call from Broadway. I live in the university town of Oxford, Mississippi (Ole Miss) where there is no shortage of college girls jogging in sports bras.
My father dying when I was only 4 years old, plus being raised by my single mom and awesome grandparents has shaped everything about me. As a kid, I rebelled by staying up late watching stand-up comedy on HBO. I wasn’t married until I was 31 years old- which, if you live in the south, is like having leprosy. I owned more power tools than my husband when we met. In 2010, Daniel came along, and shew our story is my favorite story that I will never stop telling. I call him “chief” because he knows how to do everything. My heart is in Colorado where we lived as newlyweds and started our family. Raising my daughter is like raising myself; redeeming in the most unexpected ways.
I love the West and I love big cities. I am a follower of Jesus. I drink my coffee black- don’t try to change me. Naps are my love language.
